CH-47D Chinook

The CH-47D Chinook is the Army’s medium-lift helicopter. The first Chinook was fielded in 1962, and the CH-47Ds of today are modernized CH-47A, B and C models.
The Chinook’s primary mission is the movement of ammunition, repair parts, petroleum and tactical movement of artillery, troops and special weapons on the battlefield.
