Command Sgt. Maj. Sherman Waters Jr.
CSM Sherman Waters enlisted in the United States Army Reserve on May 5, 1992, where he completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Jackson, SC to become a 71L, Administrative Specialist. He later elected to enlist in the Active Army on 4 January 1995. He has held every level of enlisted leadership position from Team Leader to Command Sergeant Major, including Inspector General NCOIC, XVIII Airborne Corps, Fort Bragg NC; G1 NCOIC, Special Warfare School & Center, Fort Bragg, NC; S1 NCOIC, 528th Sustainment Brigade (USASOC), Fort Bragg, NC; First Sergeant, Raleigh MEPS, Raleigh, NC; Branch Sergeant Major, Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, KY; Command Sergeant Major, 1st Theater Sustainment Command (TSC), Special Troops Battalion, Fort Knox KY.
CSM Waters deployed to Kuwait from February 1, 1998 to August 1, 1998; Operation Enduring Freedom from October 24, 2005 to October 23, 2006; Operation Iraqi Freedom from July 5, 2007 to October 7, 2008; and Operation New Dawn January 24, 2011 to November 8, 2011.
CSM Waters is a graduate of Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School, Inspector General (IG) Course, Combatant Command Joint Inspector General Course, Battle Staff NCO Course, Manpower and Force Management Course, and United States Sergeant Major Academy, Class #68. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal and Social Justice, and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership.
